Andrew Alder

Having finished his undergraduate study at the end of 2017, Andrew is currently awaiting his graduation in May 2018. He will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), majoring in Philosophy and Mechanical Engineering, respectively. During his undergraduate degree, Andrew spent the summer of 2017-2018 in the Medical Devices and Technology Group doing research on a robotic overground pediatric gait trainer. Specifically, his work focused on developing an inverse dynamic model for the gait trainer. Andrew developed an enjoyment of research and an interest in gait analysis and biomechanics through this project.

Andrew is currently a research assistant for Dr. Andrew McDaid. His current work is focused on algorithm development and validation for a lower limb rehabilitation device. The device is intended for people with injuries and disabilities.
